Stranger Things by Erin Healy ISBN 978-1-4016-8958-2 Thomas Nelson

Serena Diaz seemed to have a good life which included a teaching position she loved, a boyfriend and loving parents. Out of the blue she is told a student has accused her of sexual misconduct and from that moment on her life changes in ways she could never have imagined. What should have been just a trip to a quiet place to reflect on her situation suddenly turns into a horrific event where she witnesses a crime. Stranger Things, by Erin Healy, is the powerful story of Serena’s journey into a dangerous world of human trafficking and murder.
Serena finds herself thrust into a world of unspeakable evil filled with vulnerable victims. In her quest for the truth she meets people she is suspicious of. Her boyfriend may not be who he says he is. With her reputation in tatters and filled with fear, Serena continues to search for answers as to how she became part of a terrifying world. With every step of the way, her future is uncertain.
The novel is fast paced and exciting. There is a fascinating group of characters. Some take huge emotional risks. Others personify evil. I found this to be a well written story with important messages.
