My Name Is Mahtob by Mahtob Mahmoody; Thomas Nelson ISBN 978-0-7180-2210-5

Well known is the story of Betty Mahmoody and her young daughter Mahtob’s daring and perilous escape from Iran where Mahtob’s dangerous father was trying to keep them from returning to America. Many of us were, and still are, captivated by Betty Mahmoody’s memorable book, Not Without My Daughter. And now, Mahtob has written her own captivating book entitled My Name Is Mahtob. She candidly recounts her life before the family traveled to Iran and what happened while they were there. The after effects of that time have lasted a lifetime. She has faced numerous struggles. She writes eloquently about her efforts to overcome the scars her father’s behavior caused. Hers is a story of survival, faith in God and forgiveness. Her strength is inspiring. I highly recommend reading this book.

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
