Fading Starlight by Kathryn Cushman Bethany House ISBN 978-0-7642-1262-8

Fading Starlight, a novel by Kathryn Cushman, opens with Lauren Summers awaiting her big moment. Working as an intern in a fashion house, she was given the opportunity to work on the gown that a teenage actress was going to wear on the red carpet. Then, the unimaginable happens and Lauren’s career is over and her future is bleak. Unexpectedly, she receives a low paying job offer that comes with a most unusual temporary place to live. Her neighbors value their privacy, but none more than the mysterious Charlotte Montgomery. For reasons of her own, she rejects Lauren’s attempts at being neighborly. Lauren finds herself caught up in a perplexing situation as she struggles to rebuild her life. Can she find a way to reestablish her career and to understand Miss Montgomery?
The author brings to readers well drawn characters who are placed in an interesting plot. The pace of the story is steady and keeps the reader engrossed right up to the conclusion. I found this to be a well written book. Highly recommended.

I received this book for free from Bethany House and the opinions expressed are my own.
